Preliminary Video
In the prelimary task we used a vairety of editing techniques this included match on action , reverse shot and fades between shots. The camera angles used in our preliminary task was close ups , panning , mid shots and panning . In the group we made a consecutive decision to choose unusual music in the lift , we thought it would be humorous to select this genre of music. The storyline in our short film , was minute however there is use of sound which is dialogue . The setting of the short was at college there was a teacher in our film, we thought to choose our teacher as a character to create verisimilitude.

An prop
This video from youtube , this will be used a prop within the title sequence. This hows how the couple in the film meet . This video is going to be shown after the stalker discovers that her boyfriend has meet someone else. This video is used in the scene , when she begins to rewind the video forward and back .
The Story Board
In the images below , it shows what will be happening within the first 3 scenes . In the first scene there is a black screen. We have chosen to use this colour because this meets the conventions a a thriller title sequence . The colour black is effective as it creates suspense. In the second scene of the thriller title sequence we have the thriller we have the 3 main characters within the scene. This includes the young couple and the the x-girlfriend sees them . The third scene shows the girlfriend who becomes a stalker viewing images of the couple on a social networking site . This creates jealously and anger among the x-girlfriend.
In the scenes below the stalker begins to view specific images of the of the couple . The stalker then pints out more images then she becomes agitated . The screen then fades and turns black, this effect is used to create tension. In the next scene the stalker prints out a range of images and she begins to destroy the images by ripping them apart .
In the scenes below we have decided to put text within the scene, this is used to highlight that the obsession has started . She then goes on yootube and sees the couple have made a mini film about how they met each other . Following these events the stalker rewinds over and over again .
In the last three films of the title sequence , she bangs the screen of her computer , as she becomes disturbed with the images . The screen then fades black , in the next scene the credits are shown; this includes the film crew and the cast . In the last screen there is a phone with a text message stating "I can see you" .
Steps to creating the Film

Treatment
Treatment
In this treatment ideas discussed about what directions the title sequence will be taking. I will be giving an overview of the events that will lead up to the final piece.
The plot of the title sequence involves three main characters; those are two girls and a boy. The story is about how an ex girlfriend becomes obsessed about her ex boyfriend. So she begins to stalk the couple by viewing social networking sites like Facebook and twitter. The idea is the audience does not see who the person is who is stalking the couple , as we plan on making the stalker wear a mask .
There are two important events that are important to highlight within the title sequences . The first event in the title sequence of the film is the ex- girlfriend is on social network website and she the status of her ex-boyfriend change and this is how the obsession begins. We plan to use a variety of close –ups so the audience can see her reaction on her face , this will also empathies her emotions.
She then begins to print out images and post those over her bedroom wall. The ex girlfriends bedroom is one of the critical events within the title sequence because this is when the obsession begins. We plan to have use of slow non-digetic sound this will help to create suspense and atmosphere. The second event is when , she even begins to follow the couple however they are unaware that they are being followed. We plan to use a dolly shots so the troll and long shots; so the audience can have an understanding of what is happening within the scenes.
In the group we brained stormed a variety of ideas that we thought would work when we were selecting our storyline. There were many important things that we needed to ensure that we were present in the title sequence. Those were to appeal to our target audience and to create something unique. The target audience that we aimed to attract our film to is teenagers. Therefore it was important that there was range of research completed. I sat down with some friends and had one to one interviews; we also did specific and general questionnaires. This allowed use to see what was missing from the market. The questionnaire did determine the decision about what directions we would be taking within our title sequence .
We have narrowed down the locations, of where we plan to be filming our title sequence. We are going to film the one of scene in one of our members rooms , we think this would be effective because it is unexpected and it will help to create tension of who it is . We have planned to use locations around South Norwood because it is easy local and accessible for all of the members of the group to travel to.
One of the locations in South Norwood is Grange Park , this is a great location because the director has space to film and it is very scenic .
The title sequence conveys to the typical conventions of title sequence because there is suspension in this case trying to identify who the stalker is . We have a variety of shots to help create tension and to understand what is happening within the title sequence. We plan to use non diegetic sound this will help to compliment what is shown on the mise en scene; this is a typical convention of a thriller film .

David Fincher Case Study
David Fincher is a film and music director. In the film industry David Fincher has built up an reputation . for having modern and dark thrillers . When he was younger he raised in California . From a young age David Fincher already knew what he was going to do when he was younger. When he was 18 he had an internship at Korty Films ; he was then able to gain knowledge and experience about directing. He later left that company to help direct films for big companies, form the likes of Coco Cola and pop stars like Madonna. In this case study I will be looking at 4 films they are : Seven, The Game and Fight Club . Once I have viewed the opening title sequences , I will comment on the conventions and the impact it has upon the audience .
Seven
Seven is a Thriller that stares Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt. In the beginning of the trailer there is use of red text this is eye catching to the audience , as you eye is focuses on what happening on the screen. There is use of long shots this allows the audience to see what is happening within the screen clearly. Seven has use of non-diegetic sound, this is effective as this helps to create suspense . There is also non-degetic sound the narrator; this is useful as it tells the audience who stares within the film. The trailer of Seven is very short and it doesn't give anything away to the audience , which is useful .
The Game
The Game is a Thriller that came on to the screens in 1997and the main cast of the film is Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. There is used of close-ups at the start of the opening sequence of The Game ; this is used so the audience is able to understand the emotions of the characters . There is use of jump cuts within the scenes , this allows the audience to see a variety of shots . There is use of texts this helps to break the scenes ; the text is effective as the audience is able ,to achieve a better understanding about what could potentially happen.
Fight Club
Fright Club was an successful film for David Fincher as it won for Oscars and was nominated for 13. He received some recognition for his work within the thriller film industry ; Fight Club came on to the screens in 1999 and the film stares Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. The use of sound is effective as it engages the audience to see what is on the mise en scene. The characters are introduced , this is useful as the audience is able to understand what the characters personalities are like. There are a variety of thriller conventions that are apparent within the trailer , is the absence of natural light , this is present on the screen because it appears to be dark . There is use of fighting this may suggest that the film my be violent . There is use of digetic sound, this helps to understand what my potentially happen .

Creating my logo - Final stage
I saved my logo on to the desktop, it can now be accessed and be imported into Abode After Effect . This is useful because it can be used into my thriller opening sequence .
Creating the Logo - Step 2
This is the final logo that I created, I used stars then duplicated it to crate an effect. There is use of purple and black because i think that the two colours complement each other . I have learnt the how to change they colours of the starts . Also how to insert text and change the font of the text . I have learnt how to modify the effects of of the shapes . After a few attempts I found this programme to not to to be as difficult as I anticipated .

Influences
What was the influences of your film ?
Kidulthod was an influence to our I can see
you because the film is attracted
to a younger market therefore we were inspired by the conventions that the film
uses .For example there is use of slang , this attracts an younger audience
because they may feel that the can relate to the characters . Another influence
from Kidulthood
is the use of verisimilitude
, the film aims to create a
realistic atmosphere therefore it is more likely to attract a younger audience
.The film included young actors this was an influence
because it shows that a
film can be successful without having older actors .
The main influences of our film was a YouTube video that
a member of my group found . The video was called the couple that fell in love
on tumbler . In the group we
agreed that this could be the basis of
our opening thriller title
sequence ; in addition to this we thought we could incorporate elements of the
video on to the blog. Another influence from the video was the costume , as
they we dressed similarly to the audience that our film aimed to attract .
Another influence
for I can see you is the film obsessed, this film stares Beyonce . The story line of Obsessed was a great
influence . We liked the use of dark colours, this
convention is used throughout Obsessed. The use of dark colours is an element that I can see you has
use of . Another the inspiration from obsessed is the stalker , this inspired
us greatly because the character in Obsessed seems so normally bet yet once
alone she had a dark side . This helped to influence the stalker in I can see
you because the character we created is similar to the character in Obsessed.

Locations
The document below hows , what locations we plan to film in . The majority of the filming that plan to do we be indoors . However there is a scene in the opening title sequence where we plan to film in a park .This is park is very local to the destination of the indoor set, therefore it is not too far for the film crew to travel to .
Genre Conventions Opening Sequences
I have investigated film four film opening sequences Black Swan and Final Destination . I also investigated a media student's work , the film is called Daylight Macabre.
Final Destination
At the beginning of Final Destination there is use of extreme close up . This is effective as we are able to see the fear in the persons face . There is use of jump cuts , this helps to keep the audience interested and into suspense about what is going to happen next. There is use of non-digetic sound, there is bass this completes what is happening on the screen. The title sequence of Final Destination , has use of Jump Cuts , this allows more scenes to be placed into the trailer . This is useful to the audience as they are able to understand what could potentially happen in the film.
Black Swan
Black Swan has use of many shots , this is very appealing to the eye . In the opening sequences mid-shots is a very frequent, it is very effective as it allows the audience to see everything in the scene . There is use of dissolving text, this keeps the audience interested as to what is happening. Black Swan has extreme close ups this allows the audience to understand what emotions may be going through the characters mind. The audience is able to become more attached to the character , as they may be able to relate to what they are going through . Slow movement is apparent through the opening sequence, this makes the audience interested.
Daylight Macabre
In the title sequence there is camera movement , called panning; the camera shows everything in the scene , by having a circular movement. This is effective as it allows the audience to see everything happen in the scene . Another type of camera movement used in the title sequence is the dolly trolly ; the camera is moved electronically. This is more appealing to the eye as everything looks smooth on the mise en secne. The colour of the text is red , this is normally associated with death and ti is used throughout the film making it consistent .

Case Study
Case Study Quentin Tarantino
The director that I have selected to complete my case study is Quentin Taranito. He was born in the year of 1963 in America, Tennessee .Not only is he a director, he stares in the films and he writes the films that he directs. The first film he directed was called 1992 and ever since he has become a renowned director. One of the most famous films that he has produced is the Kill Bill sequel. For the purpose of the case study I will analyze theses 4 film: Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Volume 2, Death Proof and Inglorious Basterds.
Pulp Fiction
Pulp Fiction is a film hit the screens in 1994 and stares John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson , Bruce Willis and Uma Thurman. The film contains a variety of mid – shots this enables the audience to see what the actors doing clearly. Within the first scene of the title sequence the audience see a extreme close up of Samuel L Jackson , this shows his an emotion and expression .This is a effective because through the use of this camera shot , the audience can see he is angry and tempered therefore we can predict that something may happen next. In the title sequence of Pulp fiction there is use of fast temp music, this helps to create excitement about the film; the music was also current at the time therefore it was relatable to the audience . The text has use of bright colours this attracts the audience to, the same colours are used throughout the title sequence .There is use of short clips , this helps to keep the audience interested as to what is going to happen . Within the title sequence there is use of violence. I can infer as there is evidence of an extreme close up . This may suggest that he may be out to kill someone.
Kill Bill Vol.2
In Kill Bill Volume 2 the main actress is Uma Thurman , at the beginning of the title sequence there is use of low angles shots , showing peoples feet . This is effective as it creates a mystery of who that person is. There is use of a two shot of people this allows the audience to see what the characters look like. In the title sequence of Kill Bill vol .2 there is a narrator , this allows the audience to understand what has happened in the previous films .There is use on non-digetic sound, the music sounds like the wind in the desert this may suggest, that it is set in the desert. There is a variation is sound , as different scenes have different music depending on what is happening in the scene .There are variety of colours shown on the mise en scene , all of the colours complement each other ,as there is a variety of choice on the screen .
Death Proof
Death Proof was released in 2007 and it stares Kurt Russell and Zoe Bell; when it was released it was a very popular film in the cinema. In the first scene there was an extreme close up of a lady bum, this may suggest that the film is sexual. Moreover it also creates a mystery as to who the lady is in the revealing clothes is. This is continuously evident in the film as women are desert more seductively. In the film Kurt Russell is perceived to be as an ladies man . The lady actor in the film appears to be a driver, I can infer as in the film he seems to be racing. The writing in the film plays great significance, as it contains information. There is use of non-digetic sound, the music has a fast tempo; there is a variety of scenes where there is a lot actions this compliments the music. Overall the trailer is very short and it does not give anything away about what could potentially happen within the film ; this is effective as it makes the audience want to watch it more .
Inglorious Bastards
Inglorious Bastards is a film that is based in World War 2; the main cast within the film is Brad Pitt , Diane and Eli Roth . This film included many a list stares this was an interesting film and many people came to view it. At the beginning of the film the was a n extreme close-up of a paper; this may suggest that the film is set in foreign country . In the trailer of Inglorious Bastards, there are dead bodies on the floor; this may suggest that the film is violent. In the titles it says Nazis this tells the audience that this is Germany. The film was very successful as the movie won an Oscar.
There is a common theme in Quentin Tarantino, the use of font is the same in all of title sequences . In his films he also uses many high profile characters, this makes his films very successful as this will encourage people to watch it . Quentin Tarantino also includes humor into his films .

Analysis
From the transcript i have learnt that teenagers do not like to watch thriller opening sequence, therefore it is important to make it interesting , so that teenagers will watch it . Sound is another important element , that needs o be included within the sequence , as it helps to great a unique atmosphere and tension . Also when creating the title sequence the feedback, that i received is, to not give to much of the story line away . As some people do not want to know what happens in the film, when they watch it in the cinema.Another piece of information gained is to make the title sequence available on line, so that it is more accessible to a wide range of audiences .
